Regular Season Round 21: Aris - AEK Athens 77-76

The most exciting game of round 21 in the A1 took place in Thessaloniki. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed AEK Athens (16-5) to fourth ranked Aris (16-5) 77-76 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of AEK Athens. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 27-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by AEK Athens helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Israeli Jake Cohen (209-90, college: Davidson) stepped up and scored 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international Michalis Pelekanos (198-81, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points.
