Regular Season Round 21: CAI Zaragoza - FC Barcelona 76-87

There was no surprise when 15th ranked CAI Zaragoza (6-15) lost at home to second ranked FC Barcelona (19-2) 87-76. The game was mostly controlled by FC Barcelona. CAI Zaragoza was better in fourth quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FC Barcelona players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Czech point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: Beo Basket) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for FC Barcelona. They used an opportunity after Valencia lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. CAI Zaragoza at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Rio Natura Mnb.. FC Barcelona will play against Unicaja Malaga (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CAI Zaragoza will play against CB Canarias (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
