Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Ourense (9-5) defeated at home 7th ranked Leon (7-8) 70-66 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. Ourense forced 24 Leon turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Xabier Arriaga (202-97) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Ourense players scored in double figures. American forward Wykevin Bazemore (193-93, college: Winston Salem) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Trevor Berkeley (198-92, college: Drake) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Ourense have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Ourense maintains fifth position in Group A-B with 9-5 record. Leon lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Ourense will face Betanzos (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leon will play against Naron (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
