Everything could happen in Tenerife at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked CB Canarias and 11th ranked FIATC Joventut had identical 8-12 record. This time CB Canarias used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Badalona 73-68. It looked good early as FIATC Joventut took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then CB Canarias had a 16-14 second period charge getting the lead and FIATC Joventut was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-73. CB Canarias dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to FIATC Joventut's 30. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. CB Canarias (9-12) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Andorra. FIATC Joventut lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. CB Canarias will play against CAI Zaragoza (#16) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. FIATC Joventut will play against Sevilla (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
