Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Monsummano (12-12) outscored on the road 16th ranked Trecate (1-23) 100-64 on Sunday. Monsummano dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Trecate's 30 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Monsummano forced 21 Trecate turnovers and had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Gabriele Giarelli (197-93) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Monsummano players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Emanuele Gerli (195-90) with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Patrick Grossini (193-79) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monsummano maintains ninth position in B with 12-12 record. Newly promoted Trecate keeps the sixteenth place with 23 games lost. Monsummano will face Torino (#15) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Trecate will play against the league's leader Forli where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
