Second Stage Round 2: Musel Pikes - AB Contern 58-66

An interesting game for AB Contern (11-5) which played road game in Stadrbredimus against Musel Pikes (8-8). AB Contern managed to get a 8-point victory 66-58. It looked good early as Musel Pikes took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then AB Contern had a 19-10 second period charge getting the lead and Musel Pikes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-66. AB Contern forced 21 Musel Pikes turnovers and outrebounded them 36-19 including 25 on the defensive glass. American power forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and German center Nadine Grieb (184-87) chipped in 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. International guard Cathy Schmit (170-90) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals and American forward Kayla Woodward (180-93, college: Wyoming) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Musel Pikes players scored in double figures. AB Contern will play against T71 Dudelange (#5) at home in the next round. Musel Pikes will play against Amicale in Steinsel and hopes to get back on the winning track.
