Regular Season Round 19: Cagliari CUS - San Giovanni 81-91

Bottom-ranked San Giovanni managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted San Giovanni won against thirteenth-ranked Cagliari CUS 91-81. The game was mostly controlled by San Giovanni. Cagliari CUS was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. San Giovanni shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Antiesha Brown (178-92, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 steals. Romanian forward Simina Mandache (185-81) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five San Giovanni players scored in double figures. American point guard Samantha Prahalis (170-90, college: Ohio St., agency: LBM Management) answered with 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Bosnian center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management) added 30 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Cagliari CUS. San Giovanni (5-14) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Vigarano. Cagliari CUS at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. San Giovanni will play against higher ranked Familia Schio (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cagliari CUS will play against Di Lupari (#5) in San Martino di L and hopes to get back on the winning track.
