An interesting game for Sampaio (11-3) which hosted in Sampaio Basquete their biggest opponent America de Recife (11-3). Third ranked Sampaio had an easy win 73-53. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of America de Recife. The game without a history. Sampaio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The former international swingman Iziane Castro Marques (182-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 27 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international center Nadia Gomes Calhado (193-89) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international center Erika De Souza (197-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Ariadna Felipe (179-83) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Sampaio moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated America de Recife. Sampaio will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. America de Recife will play at home against Pres.Valceslau and hopes to get back on the winning track.
