Date: March 1, 2016
An interesting game took place in Junin where higher ranked Bahia Basket (18-21) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Argentino (15-23) 85-78. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-14. But Bahia Basket won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) notched 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Italian swingman Juan Cangelosi (197-81) supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Gaston Whelan (188-94) did not help to save the game for Bahia Basket. Panamanian center Jamaal Levy (206-83, college: Wake Forest) added 8 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentino moved-up to ninth place. Bahia Basket at the other side keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
