Regular Season Round 28: Santiago - Artemisa 96-81

Date: March 2, 2016
Bottom-ranked Santiago managed to get the second consecutive victory on Wednesday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Los Toros 96-81. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference proves that Santiago was well-prepared to that game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Los Toros' 40. Santiago looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Los Toros' players. The winners were led by international forward Esteban Martinez (192-87) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Eddy Hechevarria (193-86) supported him with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 13 points by guard Lazaro Sanchez (191-83) did not help to save the game for Los Toros. Forward Legismel Borlot (195-87) added 13 points for lost side. Santiago maintains eighth position with 8-16 record. Los Toros lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost.
