Bottom-ranked Cassovia K. managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they outleveled seventh-ranked Banska Bystrica 76-52. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference proves that Cassovia K. was well-prepared to that game. It looked good early as Banska Bystrica took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cassovia K. had a 22-16 second period charge getting the lead and Banska Bystrica was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 52-76. They outrebounded Banska Bystrica 42-23 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Beata Jassova (185-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Katarina Timkova (172-81) contributed with 14 points and 7 assists for the winners. Five Cassovia K. players scored in double figures. Guard Radka Stasova (168-97) replied with 16 points and Petra Stevulova (180-95) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Banska Bystrica. Cassovia K. maintains eighth position with 2-20 record. Banska Bystrica lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 19 games lost. Cassovia K. will play against higher ranked BAM Poprad (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Banska Bystrica will play against Slovan in Bratislava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
