Regular Season Round 26: Mogi - Minas 71-64

Date: March 3, 2016
Not a big story in a game in Mogi das Cruzes where 10th ranked Minas (9-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Mogi (16-7) 71-64 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-64. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Mogi's coach Danilo Padovani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-94) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Minas players scored in double figures. Mogi have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Paulistano. Loser Minas keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Mogi will face Paulistano (#4) in Sao Paolo in the next round. Minas will play on the road against Macae (#15) and hope to win that game.
