Fourteenth ranked Universo/Vitoria won an overtime thriller against second-ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru by one point 95-94 on Thursday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 20-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-13. Universo/Vitoria dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Paschoalotto/Bauru's 30. The best player for the winners was Spanish Alvaro Calvo (202-83, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Universo/Vitoria will face higher ranked Vivo/Franca (#9) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play on the road against SKY/Basquete (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
