Everything could happen in Villaviciosa at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Estudiantes B and 12th ranked Casvi had identical 5-11 record. But Casvi was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Madrid 78-77 on Thursday night. Casvi trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 31-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 77-78 at the end of the game. Estudiantes B made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Croatian power forward Filip Bundovic (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 16 points during the contest. Point guard Pablo Munoz (178-91) responded with 23 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and point guard Hector Jimenez (183-94) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Estudiantes B (6-11) moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas and Gran Canaria. Casvi lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Estudiantes B will face higher ranked Torrelodones (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Casvi will play against the league's leader Albacete (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
