Halcones Rojos (#4) were upset in Ciudad Victoria by eighth ranked Correcaminos 104-99. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Halcones Rojos. Correcaminos players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Halcones Rojos' players. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Marquis Ayala (178) accounted for 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. The former international guard Jose Estrada (194-94, college: High School) came up with 29 points and 4 steals and American forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Pro Sports) added 23 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Halcones Rojos in the defeat. Five Correcaminos and four Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Correcaminos maintains eighth place with 14-23 record. Halcones Rojos at the other side keep the fourth position with 18 games lost. Correcaminos will again play against higher ranked Halcones Rojos (#4) in Veracruz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halcones Rojos will have a break next round.
