Regular Season Round 25: Mulhouse - Rueil 90-67

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Mulhouse Basket (11-14) smashed at home 4th placed Rueil (16-9) 90-67 on Friday. The game without a history. Mulhouse Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Durell Vinson (201-85, college: Wagner) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Mulhouse Basket players scored in double figures. Coach Frederic Munch's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side swingman Lamine Sambe (188-89) responded with 14 points and American forward Gregg Thondique (202-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Mulhouse Basket moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with La Rochelle and SAP Vaucluse. Loser Rueil keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Mulhouse Basket will face higher ranked Vendee Challans (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rueil will play against UB Chartres (#11) and hope to win that game.
