Fifth-ranked BC Rakvere (10-11) made lots of trouble for first ranked TU/Rock (16-5) in Tartu on Friday. TU/Rock managed to secure only five-point victory 109-104. However their fans expected much easier game. BC Rakvere was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 22-15 charge of TU/Rock, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in double-overtime eventually winning that period 6-6. TU/Rock made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. BC Rakvere was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Janar Talts (205-83) fired 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Canadian-Lithuanian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) produced 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and his fellow American import center Brandon Goode (212-92, college: Norfolk St.) added 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four TU/Rock and five BC Rakvere players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-5 record. BC Rakvere at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. TU/Rock will have a break next round. BC Rakvere will play on the road against Audentese/N. (#9) in Tallinn and hope to win that game.
