Very predictable result when seventh ranked Leyma Basquet (13-11) rolled over bottom-ranked CB Prat (7-17) in Coruna 96-77 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Leyma Basquet dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to CB Prat's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American guard Zach Monaghan (188-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import guard Ben Stelzer (185-93, college: Michigan Tech) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Five Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Guard Alex Ros (193-83) replied with 21 points and guard Xavier Forcada (194-88) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for CB Prat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leyma Basquet moved-up to fifth place, which they share with FC Barcelona II and Burgos. Loser CB Prat dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. Leyma Basquet will face Cocinas.com (#13) in Logrono in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CB Prat will play at home against Leche Rio Breogan and hope to win that game.
