Regular Season Round 20: Provence Basket - Bourg 81-75
Date: March 4, 2016
The game in Fos-sur-Mer was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers JL Bourg (12-8) played at the court of seventh ranked Provence Basket (12-8). Provence Basket managed to secure a 6-point victory 81-75 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of JL Bourg. JL Bourg was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-13 charge of Provence Basket, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Provence Basket forced 19 JL Bourg turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (203-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Forward Christophe Leonard (199-90, agency: Comsport) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Quincy Taylor (194-82, college: UAB) scored 19 points. JL Bourg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Provence Basket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bourg and Le Portel. Provence Basket will meet Saint-Quentin (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. JL Bourg will play against Souffelweyersheim (#9) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
