There was an upset when higher ranked Valsesia (16-9) was edged on the road by fourteenth ranked Bottegone (8-17) 55-54 on Saturday. Power forward Fiorello Toppo (198-80) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Simone Fiorito (200-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Dario Zucca (201-96) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Francesco Paolin (189-95) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Bottegone moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Vasto and Pavia. Loser Valsesia dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Bottegone will face higher ranked Cento (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valsesia will play against Monsummano and hope to win that game.
