The game in Tarragona was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Meridiano Alicante (11-10) played at the court of seventh ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (11-10). CB Tarragona 2017 managed to secure a 8-point victory 67-59 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Meridiano Alicante won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when CB Tarragona 2017 won last quarter 21-14. CB Tarragona 2017 outrebounded Meridiano Alicante 38-23 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Orion Outerbridge (206-88, college: Rhode Island) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Center Ferran Torres (201-88) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland, agency: HMS) who recorded 18 points and naturalized American guard Marco Porcher Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Meridiano Alicante's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. CB Tarragona 2017 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lucentum and Moron. Meridiano Alicante lost their fourth game in a row. CB Tarragona 2017 will meet at home Zornotza (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Meridiano Alicante will play against Getafe (#14) and hope to secure a win.
