Regular Season Round 21: Moron - Clinicas Rincon 66-49

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Clinicas Rincon's (8-12) road loss to eighth ranked Moron (11-10) 49-66 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 37-19 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Moron dominated on the defensive end, holding Clinicas Rincon to just 5 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Clinicas Rincon's 30. They outrebounded Clinicas Rincon 41-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Nigerian-American center Olajide Keshinro (203-90, college: Mercy, agency: Duran International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and forward Jesus Vargas (193-94) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Moron players scored in double figures. Moron's coach Javier Fijo used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Romanian power forward Rares Uta (211-97) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Carlos Corts (182-97) scored 14 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Moron. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tarragona and Lucentum. Loser Clinicas Rincon keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Moron will face league's second-placed Araberri in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Clinicas Rincon will play at home against Sammic ISB (#4) and hope to win that game.
