Very expected game in San Cristobal where 13th ranked Aragon (4-17) was defeated by fifth ranked C.Adelantados (14-7) 63-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. C.Adelantados led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. C.Adelantados outrebounded Aragon 48-22 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mali center Minata Keita (190-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American swingman Robin Murphy (185-88, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Celia Bandres (-90) with 11 points and Ana Hernando scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. Aragon's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for C.Adelantados. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Adareva. Aragon lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. C.Adelantados will face Real Celta Vigo (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aragon will play against Maquinaria Ensino in Lugo and hope to win that game.
