Regular Season Round 21: Andratx - IF Air Europa 56-67

Very expected game when 13th ranked Andratx (3-18) was defeated at home by ninth ranked IF Air Europa (10-11) 67-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by IF Air Europa. Andratx was better in second period 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when IF Air Europa won last quarter 22-13. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Andratx's 24. They outrebounded Andratx 41-27 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Montenegrin guard Aleksandra Vujovic (184-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American center Kelsey Simon (188-92, college: Miami, OH) chipped in 9 points and 15 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Belen Mejias (180-91) with 20 points and guard Esther Morillo (169-79) scored 14 points. Andratx's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. IF Air Europa moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Picken Claret. Andratx lost their twelfth game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. IF Air Europa will face Barcelona (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Andratx will play against UCAM Jairis and hope to win that game.
