Very expected game when 7th ranked TAKE Tolosa (7-9) was defeated at home by first ranked Santurtzi (14-3) 67-56 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Santurtzi outrebounded TAKE Tolosa 36-24 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and forward Juan Torres (196-92) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Goar Arteche (186-77) with 17 points and 4 assists and guard Lander Lasa (193-88) scored 17 points. TAKE Tolosa's coach gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Santurtzi have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A-A with 14-3 record. Loser TAKE Tolosa dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Santurtzi will face La Fecha (#12) in Arroyo Encomienda in the next round which should be an easy win for them. TAKE Tolosa will play on the road against Valladolid Univ. (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
