Regular Season Round 21: Leon - Naron 92-52

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Leon and 6th ranked Naron had identical 7-8 record. This time Leon used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Naron 92-52 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Leon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Naron's 30. Leon forced 19 Naron turnovers and outrebounded them 49-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Wykevin Bazemore (193-93, college: Winston Salem) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Diego Mallou (180-94) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Four Leon players scored in double figures. Leon's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was British-American forward Steve Forbes (206-91, college: IPFW) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Alberto Seco (181-89) scored 17 points. Leon (8-8) moved-up to sixth place in Group A-B. Loser Naron dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Leon will face Chantada (#8) on the road in the next round. Naron will play against Betanzos and hope to win that game.
