Regular Season Round 21: Alcazar - Real Canoe 78-47

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Real Canoe's (10-8) road loss to third ranked Alcazar (13-5) 47-78 on Saturday. The game without a history. Alcazar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Alcazar forced 24 Real Canoe turnovers. American-Haitian guard Nick LaGuerre (190, college: St.Mary's, MD, agency: Duran International) stepped up and scored 24 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) chipped in 9 points. The best for the losing side was center Jose Maria Balmon (204-81, agency: Duran International) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alcazar moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Quintanar. Newly promoted Real Canoe dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Alcazar will face league's second-placed Quintanar on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Real Canoe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Estudiantes B.
