Regular Season Round 24: Leuven - Kangoeroes 90-88

Bottom-ranked Leuven Bears managed to get a third victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they edged tenth-ranked Kangoeroes 90-88. Kangoeroes were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-21 charge of Leuven Bears, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Austrian forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 31 points. Forward Thomas De Thaey (203-91, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale) who recorded 24 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Vincent Simpson (185-88, college: Hampton) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four Kangoeroes players scored in double figures. Leuven Bears maintains eleventh position with 3-16 record. Kangoeroes lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. Leuven Bears are looking forward to face higher ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#7) in Jemappes in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kangoeroes will have a break next round.
