Regular Season Round 21: Estudiantes B - Torrelodones 78-65

There was a minor upset in Madrid where 8th ranked Torrelodones (7-11) was defeated by tenth ranked Estudiantes B (7-11) 78-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Estudiantes B. Torrelodones was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ignacio Rodriguez (201-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) stepped up and scored 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) chipped in 17 points. The best for the losing side was forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) with 26 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ruben Portes (192-81) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Estudiantes B have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas and Torrelodones. Estudiantes B's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Real Canoe.
