Regular Season Round 27: Znicz Basket - Sokol Lancut 72-68

The game between second ranked Sokol Lancut (22-5) and sixth ranked Znicz Basket (15-11) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Sokol Lancut was defeated by Znicz Basket in a tough game in Pruszkow 68-72. Znicz Basket forced 21 Sokol Lancut turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Damian Janiak (195-89) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Swingman Damian Tokarski (193-88) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Jerzy Koszuta (192-82, agency: Promotex) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86, agency: Promotex) added 15 points and 4 steals in the effort for Sokol Lancut. Five Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. Znicz Basket moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. Sokol Lancut at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Znicz Basket is looking forward to face Slask 2 Wroclaw (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sokol Lancut will play against Spojnia (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
