Regular Season Round 44: Oita H.Devils - Hiroshima L. 124-58

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-35) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked Oita Heat Devils (11-27) 124-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Oita Heat Devils led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 28. Oita Heat Devils forced 27 Hiroshima L. turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. Point guard Nomoto Takeshi (171-89) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Daichi Tomioka scored 15 points. Oita Heat Devils maintains tenth position with 11-27 record. Hiroshima L. lost twenty second consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 35 games lost. Oita Heat Devils will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hiroshima L. will play against Takamatsu FA (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
