Regular Season Round 43: Fukuoka Rizing - Shimane SM 75-80

Very predictable result when second ranked Shimane Magic (29-10) won against on the road 9th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-25) 80-75 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Shimane Magic shot 29 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Fukuoka Rizing only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 44-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a very good performance for forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 9 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Center Travis Derochowski (209-87, college: Simpson, CA) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shimane Magic. They keep a position of league leader. Fukuoka Rizing lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth place with 25 games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against the league's leader Shimane Magic (#1) and hope to win that game.
