Regular Season Round 27: PuHu Juniorit - Lahti 67-120

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Lahti (21-4) outplayed 10th ranked PuHu Juniorit (11-16) in Vantaa 120-67 on Sunday. The game without a history. Lahti led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to PuHu Juniorit's 32 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Lahti forced 30 PuHu Juniorit turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 35 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Deonta Stocks (185, college: W.Georgia) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international Vesa Makalainen (200-86) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Lahti players scored in double figures. Guard Chrysostom Chukwuma (190-96) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Roy Hinkkanen (182-97) added 10 points in the effort for PuHu Juniorit. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Lahti maintains second place in Division with 21-4 record having just one point less than leader UU-Korihait. PuHu Juniorit at the other side keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Lahti will face HNMKY U23 (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. PuHu Juniorit will play against Namika Lr in Lappeenranta and hope to win that game.
