The game in Madrid was quite interesting. Second ranked Valencia Basket (20-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (12-10). Valencia Basket managed to secure a 5-point victory 86-81 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU, agency: Priority Sports) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Fernando San Emeterio (199-84) chipped in 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side Antiguan-American forward Ernest Scott (201-82, college: Valdosta St., agency: Court Side) responded with 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Alex Urtasun (193-84) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Valencia Basket and four Baloncesto Fuenlabrada players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Valencia Basket keeps a position of league leader, which they share with FC Barcelona. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Valencia Basket is looking forward to face La ICL Manresa (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play against Blusens Monbus (#13) in Santoago de Comp and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
