Regular Season Round 14: Al Riyadi - Tadamon 86-64

Leader Al Riyadi delivered the tenth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Tadamon (6-6) 86-64 in Beirut. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tadamon. It looked good early as Tadamon took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Al Riyadi took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 22 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tadamon to just 6 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Tadamon 40-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. American center Chris Daniels (212-84, college: Limoges) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. The former international swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Serbian swingman Branko Cvetkovic (200-84) replied with 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tadamon. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-2 record. Tadamon at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Byblos. Al Riyadi will play against Al Moutahed (#3) in Tripoli in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tadamon will play on the road against Champville in Dik El Mehdi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
