Very expected game when 17th ranked Gipuzkoa (4-18) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked UCAM Murcia (11-11) 78-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by UCAM Murcia. Gipuzkoa was better in fourth quarter 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gipuzkoa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (179-91) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Scott Wood (198-90, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four UCAM Murcia players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Txemi Urtasun (193-84) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. UCAM Murcia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Dominion BB. Gipuzkoa lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 18 games lost. UCAM Murcia will face higher ranked Gran Canaria (#5) in Las Palmas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
