Regular Season Round 27: Korikouvot - Espoo Basket 79-59

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Espoo Basket (13-14) was outscored by sixth ranked Korikouvot (17-10) in Kouvola 79-59 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Korikouvot's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-13 extending their advantage to 20 points. It was a good game for guard Teemu Knihtinen (192-98) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Valtteri Leino (181-95) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Korikouvot's coach Kari Kurronen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gambian center Baboucarr Ceesay (197-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds and American swingman Justice Graham (198-79, college: Glenville St.) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Espoo Basket. Newly promoted Korikouvot maintains sixth place in Division with 17-10 record. Espoo Basket at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Korikouvot will face Ura Basket (#7) in Kaarina in the next round. Espoo Basket will play at home against KTP II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
