Regular Season Round 27: FoKoPo - UU-Korihait 85-97

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-best Forssan Koripojat's (17-7) home loss to first ranked UU-Korihait (21-5) 85-97 on Sunday. UU-Korihait dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Forssan Koripojat's 34. They outrebounded Forssan Koripojat 50-36 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for power forward Marcus Van (201-87, college: Cent.Michigan) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds. Swingman Reginald Bratton (193-86, college: Lenoir-Rhyne, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. Point guard Ramon Nelson (175-90, college: USC Aiken) answered with 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists and center Shane Heyward (198-92, college: Columbus St.) added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Forssan Koripojat. UU-Korihait maintains first place in Division with 21-5 record. Forssan Koripojat at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. UU-Korihait will face HoNsU Basket (#6) in Jyvaskyla in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Forssan Koripojat will play on the road against Oulun NMKY (#7) and hope to win that game.
