Second Stage Round 5: Residence - Bascharage 89-77

Round 5 in Total League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Bereldange where host Residence (11-13) beat league's leader Bascharage (18-6) 89-77 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in League. The game was mostly controlled by Residence. Bascharage managed to win third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Residence had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) who scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. British-Nigerian Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import point guard Marcus Neal (196-86, college: Delaware St.) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Residence maintains first place in League with 11-13 record. Newly promoted Bascharage dropped to the second position with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Residence. Bascharage will play next round against strong Heffingen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Residence will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Arantia in Larochette.
