Regular Season Round 17: Panathinaikos - Niki Lefkadas 90-52

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Panathinaikos (13-4) crushed 5th ranked Niki Lefkadas (8-9) in Athens 90-52. Panathinaikos dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Niki Lefkadas' 18. They outrebounded Niki Lefkadas 46-27 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panathinaikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Niki Lefkadas' players. The best player for the winners was American guard Keani Albanez (178, college: Gonzaga) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Her fellow American import power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Panathinaikos' coach Konstantinos Papadopoulos felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Ariya Crook-Williams (170-93, college: USC) produced 20 points and the former international center Elina Iskioglou (188-86) added 11 points respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Panathinaikos. They maintain second place with 13-4 record having four points less than leader Olympiacos Pireus. Newly promoted Niki Lefkadas dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Panathinaikos' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Aris Petropolis (#10) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Niki Lefkadas will play against Kronos AD (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
