Regular Season Round 23: Parnu - Valga 89-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Parnu's (11-11) home victory over 7th ranked Valga (8-13) 89-78. The game was mostly controlled by Parnu. Valga was better in second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Valga's 24 and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Valga 41-27 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Lithuanian forward Paulius Petrilevicius (200-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. International power forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. Latvian swingman Edgars Krumins (194-86) responded with 15 points and Latvian guard Kristaps Kanbergs (190-88) scored 18 points. Four Valga players scored in double figures. Parnu moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tarvas. Valga at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Parnu will play against higher ranked TLU/Kalev (#3) in Tallinn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valga will play at home against BC Rakvere (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
