Regular Season Round 21: Hapoel G/A - Elitzur Yavne 92-63

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Hapoel Afula (15-6) rolled over at home 13th ranked Elitzur Yavne (6-15) 92-63. Hapoel Afula forced 22 Elitzur Yavne turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Adir Cohen (-95) who scored 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Ziv Ben-Zvi (183-92) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. Hapoel Afula's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized American guard Andrew Fogel (188-85, college: Mercyhurst) added 16 points respectively. Hapoel Afula moved-up to third place, which they share with Hapoel B/S. Elitzur Yavne lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Hapoel Afula's next round opponent will be Hasharon (#9) in Hod Hasharon which should be theoretically another easy game. Elitzur Yavne will play at home against Hapoel Kazrin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
