Regular Season Round 14: Moutahed - Homenetmen 92-85

The most important game in the last round took place in Tripoli between second ranked Homenetmen (9-4) and fourth ranked Al Moutahed (8-5) on Tuesday night. Homenetmen was defeated by Al Moutahed in a tough game on the road 85-92. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 31-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Al Moutahed made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Ramel Curry (191-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in 32 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) produced 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Norvel Pelle (208-93, college: Iona) added 15 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Al Moutahed and five Homenetmen players scored in double figures. Al Moutahed have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Homenetmen at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Al Moutahed are looking forward to face league's leader Al Riyadi in Beirut in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Homenetmen's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Sagesse.
