Top ranked Cocodrilos (15-11) recorded its eleventh loss in La Guaira on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Bucaneros (18-9) 102-89. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. The best player for the winners was American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Jesus Centeno (190-85) chipped in 18 points. American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) produced 22 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bucaneros have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-9 record having just four point less than leader Marinos.
