Regular Season Round 23: Wilki Morskie - Rosa Radom 98-84

The game between second ranked Rosa (18-5) and seventh ranked Wilki Morskie (14-12) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Rosa was defeated by Wilki Morskie in Szczecin 84-98. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rosa. The game was mostly controlled by Wilki Morskie. Rosa managed to win fourth quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wilki Morskie dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rosa's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW, agency: Comsport) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points. His fellow American import power forward C.J. Aiken (206-90, college: St.Joseph's) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international Robert Witka (205-81) added 14 points in the effort for Rosa. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wilki Morskie maintains seventh place with 14-12 record. Rosa at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Wilki Morskie are looking forward to face Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#11) on the road in the next round. Rosa will play against Polpharma (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
