Regular Season Round 28: Lahti - HNMKY U23 90-48
Date: March 9, 2016
Very expected game when 13th ranked HNMKY U23 (7-21) was crushed on the road by second ranked Lahti (24-4) 90-48 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Lahti led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held HNMKY U23 to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Lahti outrebounded HNMKY U23 58-45 including a 46-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Deonta Stocks (185, college: W.Georgia) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and swingman Aleksi Alanen (194-91) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Eemil Raisanen (202-97) responded with 6 points and 10 rebounds and Petteri Ruutiainen scored 4 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Lahti maintains second position in Division with 24-4 record having just three point less than leader UU-Korihait. HNMKY U23 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with 21 games lost.
