The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (15-6) on the court of twelfth ranked Nantes on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Nantes 74-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hyeres-Toulon won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nantes forced 23 Hyeres-Toulon turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Valentin Bigote (196-92, agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and William Howard (201-93) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hyeres-Toulon. Four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Nantes (10-11) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Vichy Clermont and Charleville. Hyeres-Toulon at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Nantes is looking forward to face higher ranked Provence Basket (#3) in Fos-sur-Mer in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hyeres-Toulon will play at home against JA Vichy and is hoping to win this game.
