Regular Season Round 26: La Rochelle - Bordeaux 89-93

There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked JSA Bordeaux (11-15) beat on the road 14th ranked La Rochelle (11-15) 93-89 on Friday. They outrebounded La Rochelle 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. JSA Bordeaux looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. La Rochelle was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian point guard Eigirdas Zukauskas (201-92) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: Md-E Shore) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Faycal Sahraoui (186-79) produced 17 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and American forward William Walker (200-87, college: Bethel, IN, agency: Octagon Europe) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Five JSA Bordeaux and four La Rochelle players scored in double figures. La Rochelle's coach Gregory Thielin tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. JSA Bordeaux moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with La Rochelle and Vitre. La Rochelle lost fourth consecutive game. JSA Bordeaux will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round.
