Regular Season Round 21: Orchies - Vichy Clermont 69-77

Very expected game when 18th ranked Orchesien BC (4-17) lost to eleventh ranked JA Vichy (10-11) in Orchies 69-77 on Saturday. Orchesien BC trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 27-21 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 69-77 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: Court Side) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Guard Pierric Poupet (191-84) answered with 15 points and 6 assists and American swingman Jared Newson (205-84, college: Tenn-Martin) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Orchesien BC. Orchesien BC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. JA Vichy moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Nantes and Charleville. Loser Orchesien BC stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. JA Vichy will face league's leader Hyeres-Toulon on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orchesien BC will play against the league's second-placed ALM Evreux (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
