There was no surprise when 14th ranked Peristeri GS (4-10) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kymis (16-3) 80-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kymis. Peristeri GS was better in third quarter 18-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was s Tountziarakis who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Serbian guard Igor Milosevic (193-86, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Four Kymis players scored in double figures. Kymis' coach Vassilis Bratsiakos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Konstantinos Papantonakos (202-91) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and British forward Robert Gilchrist (206-90, college: Florida St.) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Kymis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Faros. Peristeri GS at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth place with ten games lost. Kymis will face Psyhiko (#7) in Athens in the next round where they are favorite.
